A massive fuel oil spill has been recorded on the southern coast of occupied Crimea, causing a real tragedy for wildlife. Thousands of birds have fallen into a deadly trap, as their plumage is completely saturated with viscous toxic wastes. This is reported by the National Resistance Center of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (NRC), as reported by UNN.

It is noted that without emergency professional assistance, the birds inevitably die from severe intoxication and rapid heat loss on the cold shore. The oil slick on the water surface blocks access to air, leading to the poisoning of unique marine flora and fauna directly along the coastline.
The occupation authorities are showing complete indifference to the situation and have effectively withdrawn from addressing the consequences of the pollution. Responsible agencies are ignoring the environmental disaster, shifting the entire burden of rescue operations onto the shoulders of individual volunteers. Such criminal inaction by officials is leading to the rapid extinction of local populations and the irreversible destruction of the peninsula's natural balance

It is stated that every delay in cleaning the water area brings the entire Black Sea ecosystem closer to the point of no return.
"The current situation requires immediate intervention by the international community, as without systemic measures, Crimea's protected zones face total degradation and destruction. Nature defenders emphasize that the consequences of this fuel oil pollution may be felt for decades," – summarize experts at the NRC.
