Today, April 26, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant was once again in a blackout. As reported by Energoatom, the "Ferrosplavna-1" power line was disconnected, causing the plant to switch to blackout mode, UNN reports.
Details
For an hour and a half, the plant was powered by 19 backup diesel generators.
This is already the fifteenth instance of a blackout at the ZNPP since the beginning of its occupation.
Energoatom states that each such incident significantly increases the risks to nuclear and radiation safety not only for Ukraine but also for Europe.
The situation once again confirms the need for the swiftest possible return of the plant to the full control of Ukraine and its legitimate operator – Energoatom, which is the only guarantee for the safe operation of Europe's largest nuclear power plant
– the statement reads.
